Each month, we invest thousands of dollars in health and fitness advertising, connecting with people from all walks of life with diverse health goals. Based on the individual’s goals, some are an excellent fit for our program, and others aren’t. But regardless, we point everyone in a direction that would work for them, even if that means going to another gym in the area. But a new trend is popping up, and it perplexes us as we’ve struggled with understanding how we can help the growing number of people using GLP-1 medications like Ozempic.
While we’re biased toward natural health and fitness methods, like consistent workout routines and developing a healthy relationship with foods. We don’t oppose GLP-1 medications or criticize those who choose them for weight loss.
In conversations with GLP-1 participants, we often find three key points: they have no appetite, consume around 600 calories daily, and eat unhealthy fillers like Zebra cakes (I’ve overly simplified this). This leads to a significant caloric deficit and poor nutrition that doesn’t support muscle growth or retention and does not address the underlying issues. Since they aren’t addressing the underlying issues, when they stop taking the medication, those old bad habits will return. What comes next is weight gain, depression, and/or the continued use of the medications for the foreseeable future.
We face a challenge.
Due to CrossFit’s high intensity, we wouldn’t recommend it for someone with such a low caloric intake. However, our goal is to improve the longevity and healthspan of our local community. After much thought, we’ve found a way to help people on Ozempic and other GLP-1 medications.
Introducing our Ozempic/GLP-1 Health Mentorship
With two main goals:
- Address and Improve Underlying Issues: We’ll provide the guidance needed to develop healthier habits, whether unhealthy nutrition habits, a lack of motivation to work out, or the mental barriers faced with daily life stressors.
- Prioritize Muscle Retention. While on GLP-1 medications, we’ll prioritize muscle retention through personalized 1:1 strength training and nutrition coaching.
Together, we’ll stay on track. With regular weekly check-ins, we’ll build a supportive community that ensures our collective success. Contact us below to build lasting habits, prioritize your health, and achieve long-term success!
